The Hayward Model 72L Simplex Strainer offers a continuous lining of advanced fluoropolymer resin, making it an economical alternative to exotic alloy strainers in various corrosive and abrasive piping applications. Ideal for wastewater treatment, hazardous materials,  ultra-pure water handling and chemical/ petrochemical processing, the Model 72L retains the reliable design of our proven Model 72.

  The body and cover are fully lined with Tefzel®, protecting all wetted surfaces and providing exceptional resistance to chemical attack that can lead to rapid deterioration in other plastics and most metal alloys.

• Chemical Resistance:
  The Tefzel fluoropolymer lining is inert to strong mineral acids, inorganic bases, halogens, and metal salt solutions. It shows minimal impact from carboxylic acids, anhydrides, hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, ethers, esters, chlorocarbons, and classic polymer solvents.

• High-Temperature Service:
  The strainer can withstand service temperatures up to 300°F, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

The Hayward All Plastic Simplex Basket Strainer effectively protects pipeline components from dirt and debris. It removes unwanted particles as the process media flows through a perforated basket inside the strainer body, ensuring that only clean media continues downstream.

Easy Basket Cleaning

Changing or cleaning the strainer basket is straightforward. The hand-removable, spin-off cover features two angled handles for quick access. The housing has external cover threads that remain clean and free from process media contamination. Venting and draining are facilitated by hand-removable threaded plugs located on both the cover and the side of the housing.

Versatile Piping Connections

Designed for both in-line and loop piping configurations, the strainer incorporates three connection points on the body for versatile installation. The unused connection can be plugged with the included blind fitting. True union connections make it easy to detach the strainer from the system without disrupting existing piping.

Wide Range of Strainer Baskets

Choose from a variety of plastic basket perforation sizes ranging from 1/32” to 3/16”. For more demanding applications, stainless steel perforated baskets are available in sizes from 1/2” to 1/32”. Additionally, mesh stainless steel baskets are offered for fine straining applications, available from 20 mesh down to 325 mesh.
